For the first time, the event will host the pizza maker competition and bets on immersive experiences in the world of beverages
Anuga Select Brazil, the largest food and beverage trade fair in Latin America, returns for its 6th edition with new additions to its programme. Among the highlights is the 3rd edition of the National Pizzaiolo Championship, taking place for the first time at the event.
“The Championship has seen record registrations for the third consecutive year—almost double compared to the previous edition,” says Carlos Zoppetti, director of Instituto ConPizza and organiser of Oficina da Pizza, a space dedicated to tastings and demonstrations of products used in the best and most award-winning pizzerias, as well as a support area for competitors to minimise potential mistakes during the competition.
The Championship is divided into three categories: Classic Italian, Neapolitan, and Roman Taglio. “Competitors will have a set time to prepare and present their pizzas before a panel of technical judges, who will score them based on the criteria and regulations set by the organisers. Each category will have an awards ceremony, with the winner, second, and third places taking the podium,” explains Zoppetti.
The winners will represent Brazil at the world’s largest pizza fair, the International Challenger Pizza Expo, held in Las Vegas in 2026. The international experience alongside the best pizza makers in the world will be fully paid for (including flights, accommodation, meals, transport, fair and competition registration, and translation services for those who do not speak English).
Drink responsibly
The Drink Experience Flix returns to Anuga after the success of its coffee-based drinks in 2024. “Coffee-based drinks are extremely interesting, with very high profitability, allowing establishments to expand their strategy and offer a wider mix of products and services—whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic, hot or cold,” says Fabio de Francisco, CEO at BaresSP.
Curated by BaresSP, the Drink Experience Flix is a web series created by Anuga, featuring live demonstrations and tastings with special guests to inspire people to create their own flavour adventures.
The first episode, focused on coffee-based drinks, is available on Anuga’s YouTube channel. The second will be released after the fair.
“This year’s novelty will be a focus on customer experience. The idea is to bring cocktails to the centre of this relationship. When we talk about cocktails, we must offer something extra to the customer—an experience alongside the preparation and tasting of the drink. We want people to take part in making the cocktail. This year, we’re aiming for even more interactivity than usual,” concludes Francisco.
