ANUFOOD, a unique trade fair exclusively organised for the food and beverage industry, expects to gather 10 thousand qualified visitors, who will contact 200 exhibitors and 300 brands from Brazil and abroad.
The second edition of ANUFOOD Brazil, International Trade Show Exclusively for the Food and Beverage Sector, are well advanced and it will take place from 9th to 11th March 2020. This is a B2B event and Koelnmesse is responsible for organising it, as well as ANUGA that celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2019. It is a unique and exclusive event for the food and beverage industry in Brazil gathering 200 exhibitors representing approximately 350 brands for an estimate audience of 10 thousand visitors, buyers, entrepreneurs and professionals from the sectors of supermarket, wholesale, convenience shop, restaurants, bars, collective meals, bakery, pizzeria, among others.
“ANUFOOD Brazil’s mission is to become the main platform to generate business in the food industry as a whole aiming at the domestic market and exports, in addition to provide a stage for strategic discussions regarding the industry. This is a unique event in Brazil focused on food and beverage and as it is one of the major industries in the country, it surely deserves a grand event. Also, we have set key partnerships that provides the support to meet those demands and get all the objectives lined up”, says Cassiano Facchinetti, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Ltda.
There is plenty optimism for the next edition as entities such as Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Ital (Institute of Food Technology) and ABIA (Brazilian Association of Food Industry) have confirmed their participation as strategic partners at the event. The collaborative work will contribute to enhance ANUFOOD contents programme.
“The first edition of ANUFOOD Brazil gathered seven thousand visitors from 39 countries, which deemed it to be successful! Such events are very important to attract investments and to encourage business in the Brazilian food industry, which is the most important of sector in Brazil”, João Dornellas, executive president of Abia, says.
Luis Madi, Director of Institutional Affairs at Ital, comments that the entity ‘has been following the development of food, beverage and packaging trade fairs over the last 40 years in Brazil’. “We are currently experiencing a scenario which a trade fair that values Brazilian products is needed as it promotes the Brazilian food and beverage industry to the world. ANUFOOD Brazil is a great opportunity to exhibit Brazilian products to the international market. Ital’s mission is to provide support to the industry through various mechanisms, including the encouragement of trade fairs for the food, beverage and packaging industries”.
However, Roberto Rodrigues, coordinator of GVAgro – Agribusiness Studies Center at Fundação Getulio Vargas and responsible for the curatorship of ANUFOOD Brazil Conference, emphasizes that the discussions are crucial for the agribusiness development in Brazil. “During the edition of the event that took place this year, we discussed about food safety and the future of food supply considering the potential growth of the world population. Currently we think about discussions related to the consumption trends that could guide production in both fields and food industry”, says Rodrigues.
The former minister of agriculture estimates that the fair “is extraordinarily important for Brazil. Currently, Brazil is globally known as a major food supplier. However, there is much more than agricultural commodities. We need to add value and show the world that Brazil has a solid, competitive, efficient and sustainable food network, which is essential. And that’s what ANUFOOD represents: a showcase of Brazil’s industrial technology that the whole world is getting to know”.
In 2019, the first edition of the event in Brazil gathered 122 national and international exhibitors and more than seven thousand highly qualified visitors, as well as buyers from 39 countries and over 1,000 meetings were held in business round tables.
